Programs for Everyone!
Dharma Meetings
Zen Master Hye Mun offers private dharma meetings by appointment. These provide an opportunity to meet privately with a Zen teacher and also to begin kong-an practice (a traditional Zen training method). If you practice regularly at the Zen center, you can request an interview by sending an email to cochisezen at icloud dot com.
Zen Day
We regularly offer an extended period of sitting meditation, known as Zen Day. Zen Day creates a meaningful opportunity to look deeply into one’s life. We begin at 8:55 a.m and finish at 12 noon, alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation. No charge, no registration.
Ceremonies
We celebrate two traditional Buddhist holidays, Buddha's Birthday and Buddha's Enlightenment Day, with ceremonies. The birthday ceremony is in early April and the enlightenment ceremony in early December.
Dharma Talks
From time to time, Zen Master Hye Mun or other Kwan Um School teachers offer public dharma talks. These provide an opportunity to learn more about Buddhist teachings and ask questions about practice and everyday life. See this page for upcoming talks.
Workshops & Discussion Groups
Occasionally, Zen Master Hye Mun will offer workshops on Buddhist teachings, selected texts, or other topics.
Zen Master Hye Mun is available for public talks or other activities in the Cochise County community. To learn more, send an email to cochisezen at icloud dot com.
All events are offered at no charge; we welcome donations to support these programs.
Note about Covid: If you wish to practice in-person at our center in Old Bisbee, please follow the Covid Protocol. You may also join via Zoom (email for the Zoom access information).
